Q1: What IS an EdCamp?!?
An EdCamp is loosely based on an "unconference" model:

-- NO COST to participants-- organized by a voluntary group of LOCAL EDUCATORS-- OPEN to ANYONE interested in the topic-- day's PROGRAM is CREATED by the PARTICIPANTS in the opening session-- sessions are BASED on PARTICIPANTS EXPRESSED INTERESTS & NEEDS -- NO FORMAL PRESENTATIONS are prepared or provided -- participants are encouraged to “VOTE with their FEET” and to direct their own learning
-- focus is on CONNECTIONS and CONVERSATIONS with others

1. What is our collective vision and mission?

2. How might we create the most effective EdCampPtbo possible?

Individuals were asked to use star stickies to indicate which teams they would like to work on, and smaller rectangular stickies to indicate which tea
Small groups completed a Pre-Mortem activity where we brainstormed and identified possible scenarios which could end in the disastrous end of EdCampPTBO:

Sadly, Here Lies EdCampPTBO .....
  • Killed by Wifi Failure (mentioned by all 3 groups)
  • Killed by lack of interest
  • Killed by lack of participants
  • Suffocated by too many participants
  • Death by boredome and / or silence
  • Killed by Wifi Failure (mentioned by all 3 groups)
